Traffic Exchange Report For January 2009

Introduction

The Traffic Reports on www.Traffic-Exchange-Monitoring.com are compiled from completely independant figures supplied by the Alexa Traffic Rankings System, so you can be completely satisfied that the information I provide is genuine, and not the result of anyone paying me money to list their site, or anything of that kind.

In general the most dependable rankings on all websites, without any doubt is the Alexa Rankings. In respect of Traffic Exchanges it is very important that you concentrate your marketing efforts on the best and highest ranked exchanges only. This is because these Traffic Exchanges have the highest active memberships and give you the best coverage of your site to the most different people

Learning How To Use Traffic Exchanges

The key to being successful with the traffic exchange industry and the easiest method to get the best results from advertising on the free traffic exchanges is actually very easy - simply surf a load of good traffic exchanges at once using a tabbed browser like mozilla firfox. At all costs do not get sucked into surfing competition, surfing game, surfing teams, referral competitions, surfing for prizes or anything similar. In fact stay away from anything to do with competitions or the like. The competitions you will see on some traffic exchanges are simply a clever trick to "hook" you into one of the bigger traffic exchanges and make you waste all your time on that exchange only - this is a strategy doomed to failure. It will of course work very nicely for the traffic exchange owner concenned who is hoping to milk you dry of your every last penny, knowing that sooner or later you will find out that the traffic didn't work and then you will be easy pickings for the "upgrade offer"

Surf Not One - Surf Many

The truth is that there are many good traffic exchanges out there. It is of course very important to choose traffic exchanges wisely. The key things to avoid is any traffic exchange that keeps throwing frame breakers at you - which is where the surf frame disappears, and you are stuck having to click the back button to return to surfing. Another factor to watch out for is if you see too many PTP or PTR or GPT sites being displayed on the exchange - this means "paid to read", "paid to click", "get paid to type" websites. These wibsites are really bad for the whole traffic exchange industry although a few knuckle-head traffic exchange owners do insist on keeping adding them. The problem they all have in common is that have an inner frame where a third party website is displayed, and there is no way of knowing what this website will be. Many such sites are full of viruses, unmentionable nasties, hiden iframe rotators and framebreakers. If you are surfing any traffic exchange that has more than the odd one should be avoided completely, as sooner or later there will be a problem with this site and all sorts of problems will be thrown up on your computer

Surfing The Many Not The Few

The key to being successful with traffic exchanges is to choose any set of good traffic exchanges - of which you will find plenty excellent ones listed on this websites, many of which I have personally tested daily. I am an active surfer, so what you read on this website is borne from real ongoing experience not theory - or just as bad - what might have worked 5 or 6 years ago. So the key is to ignore all attempts to hook you into some competition, instead concentrate on surfing just 20 sites on each traffic exchange - but spread across allot of differentexchanges. So let us suppose you have hit on 10 exchanges that seemed fine - then simply surf those 10 until you have surfed 20 sites. This is then you daily ration - you have earned 20 hits but across 10 exchanges - which is actually 200 hits. Hopefully you can see how the process will multiply itself. If you have a reasonable computer with a decent amount of internet memory or RAM and a decent internet connection, you should be able to do many more than 10. This means you will not be earning just 200 hits per day, but maybe 400 or 500 depending on how many different exchanges you computer will stand. It all depends on what you computer processor and capacity will cope with - you will need to test this - simply have a go and add on exchange exchange at a time and see how many you can get up to

Surfing To A Routine

Setting a routine for your surfing and doing a little often is better than having a "big go" and being dissappointed with the results. So do not be tempted to sit on an exchange all day and all night thinking - "wow look at all this free traffic - fantastic" - many people have thought this before you and they have ALL fallen flat on their faces! This kind of strategy is doomed because most of your hits will be wasted if you use this method. What is better is to set a routine that you can happily repeat every day - ideally 7 days a week. So if you have half an hour - fine - use that half an hour, but set it as a routine that you will do every day. Simply sit down for the half an hour and do your surfing and then when its done - great you have got your hits for that day

Advertising The Right Pages

A very important lesson to learn on a traffic exchange - which actually applies in any advertising you do online - is that you must have the right page to advertise. People online are busy - even if someone comes to your website from a high quality source like a search engine listing, they will still spend less than 20 seconds on your website on average. It is a known fact that people spend a very small amount of time on each website until they find what they are searching for. As a result to get the maximum results you MUST use what is called a lead page - this is a page were the main point of the page is get your visitor to signup for your email list. You don't need alot of information on the page - just a good headline and a small amount of text to encourage people to join your email list for further information. This is then the page that you advertise on the traffic exchanges - people will signup as they see your page, and then you will grow your subscriber base. It is reckoned that you email list will yield you as much as $1 for every subscriber, so it really is a vital strategy to use. To make this system work the best you need an autoresponder, of which the best is trafficwave, because you can earn a good monthly income by referring other people, but more importantly it has a feature to recycle subscribers back to a previous message - this is a vital feature, which just about none of the other autoresponder have. Having build an email list, the last thing you want is to lose all your subscribers once they have come to the end of your series of messages - far better if you can just keep them cycling through all the messages again and again - especially if you have lots of messages
